Arabian Picasso Trigger Fish
( Rhinecanthus assasi )
A fish with a yellow mouth, big orange eyes, a vertical black wedge at eyes. The back is straw-grey, stomach is white. There are also blue and black strips at the head. It is a Picasso.
There is a similar Lagoon triggerfish ( Rhinecanthus aculeatus ) in Indo-Pacific region, but Arabian Picasso fish lives only in Red Sea.
Size up to 30cm. Deep 0-15m. Feed: sea-urchin, invertebrates.
This fish is shy. It quickly swims from a photographer and hides in a hole of coral.
