Red Sea racoon butterflyfish
( Chaetodon fasciatus )
In some sources it named Diagonal or Striped butterflyfish. The fish is yellow with black diagonal stripes, dark edges of fins and the tail. There is a black mask on its eyes and a white horizontal stripe on the forehead. The fish feed on corals, plants, small invertebrates, jellyfish. Size - 20 cm.
Small shoals of these fish swim near corals. They don't hide in corals like other fish. They bravely surround a photographer, often they swim between me and my underwater camera. It is easy to photograph these fish closely.
